All necessary arrangements have been concluded for the commencement of degree programmes in various fields of study at Bauchi Institute for Arabic and Islamic studies (BIAIS).
This was stated in a news briefing by the Provost of the institute Alhaji Salisu Barau with our correspondent at the school premises last week during the event of signing the MoU with Islamic Online University (IOU) of Gambia.
According to him , the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) agreement signed will allow the institution to serves as learning and examination centre
of the IOU.
"The essence of this agreement is to open opportunity for the members of the general public who desire to pursue university degree for their academic advancement." The Provost added.
Alh. Barau expressed gratitude to JIBWIS Bauchi (the proprietor of the Institute) for providing the institution with the required facilities, making it possible to enter into this agreement despite the fact that the association is executing numerous projects that need higher financial commitments.
Reacting on the development on behalf of the University Chancellor, Dr Bilal Philips (Abu Ameenah), the Bauchi representative of IOU Mal. Hamza Abubakar Hussaini (Abu Mujahid), expressed his confidence and satisfaction with the commitment shown by the two institutions. He said that "The signing of the MOU was in line with the Chancellor's efforts to provide affordable and qualitative education for all anytime and everywhere."
Based on this arrangement, interested members of the public can apply for admission into various degree programs through the Institute at anytime.

Bauchi institute for Arabic and Islamic studies is the first Izalah owned higher institution in Nigeria and first private NCE awarding institution in the Northeastern part of the country. It began operation in 1996 at its temporary site situated at Bakari Dukku primary school with 36 students and a staff strength of 27. Since from its inception to date, the school has graduated over 4000 students in NCE and Grade II programmes.
The school is now a fully accredited institution by the National Commission for Colleges of Education (NCCE) Abuja, and it has granted affiliation to Sa'ad Bn Abi Waqas College, Gombe (Another Jibwis owned college in Gombe).
